Gorgeous patchwork boy needs help

This sweet, lovely Catahoula boy is stuck in Town Lake Animal Center with only an ID number for a name. He was picked up as a stray on the outskirts of Austin, and so far, no one has come to claim him.

Lone Star needs foster homes now more than ever. Let us know if you can help save a life for the holidays.

Introducing Denny and Luby, two new Lone Star pups rescued from Harris County Animal Control in Houston yesterday. Thanks to Karen Cloud and Cindy Chupe for helping Lone Star on the Houston end. These boys will be ready for adoption as soon as they are neutered. Contact us for more info on these adorable guys.

This is Morgan. She’s in a kill-shelter in Allen, Texas, and her time here on earth is running out. She needs help ASAP. A volunteer has assessed her and reports she’s “a great pet, trained, friendly, loving, somewhat energetic (she’ll calm down with exercise , and in desperate need of being rescued.”

We don’t know how she ended up in a kill-shelter. It’s the same sad story, just a different sad dog.

UPDATE: Morgan is safe! Thanks go to our fantastic volunteer Laura MaCuk and her mother, who decided to drive from Austin to Allen today to spring Morgan from the shelter. We’ll post some happy beginning photos when we get them. Thanks to everyone who contacted us about helping Morgan.

Lone Star is having a holiday Meet and Greet/Adoption Day tomorrow, Sunday, December 10. This time we’ll be at the Petco in Round Rock, located in the La Frontera shopping center (click here for a map), from 11-2. Come join us for some holiday cheer and meet some fantastic dogs!

Thanks to everyone who came out for Lone Star’s second Adoption Day Meet and Greet - our dogs generated a lot of interest and everyone had a fantastic time. Our next meet-up will be in a couple of weeks. We’ll post the date soon.

This upcoming Sunday, November 26, Lone Star Catahoula Rescue will be hosting an Adoption Event/Meet and Greet at PetCo in Hancock Center in central Austin from 11-2 pm. Come on out and meet some great dogs - and some great folks, too. Click here for a map to the location.
